Vi Morgan is hoping that her new life in Garreton will be quiet and uneventful. It turns out to be nothing of the sort when she finds herself dying and being hired by a strange Company.

Vi's first assignment forces her to get involved in the murder case of Olivia Gibson and this puts both her and Bianca into far more trouble than she could have imagined.

Vi is shocked to discover an article about her experience printed in the school paper. As she tries to deal with this disaster, another assignment from the Company brings her problems a little closer to home.

After a few weeks on the job, Vi is becoming unsettled with the idea that the Company may take up her entire life. She then rejects all Signs that come her way and her actions (or rather, inactions) cause problems for both her and those around her.

It's time for the Company's annual psychological assessments. We follow Vi, Benson, Andrew and Jenna through their respective interviews while, out in the real world, Vi must follow another assignment.

Vi's next assignment leads her to a boy at her school who's been harboring a secret crush on her. Vi is obligated to help him but unfortunately this "help" consists of a date. Meanwhile, Shane auditions musicians for his band.

When visiting the Company offices for an employee get-together, Vi becomes trapped inside with her new co-workers and must enlist the help of a confused and increasingly suspicious Shane to do her assignment for her.

It's bad enough when Vi and Bianca are paired for a school project but things get worse when Vi is assigned by the Company to do all the work herself - leaving Bianca to bond with Penny.

After a botched assignment, Andrew is blamed and taken off duty as both a Runner and Vi's partner. Vi decides to dig into Andrew's past to discover exactly why Benson dislikes him so much.

Vi's plans for her first official date with Erin are ruined when a Company assignment forces to her to get on a city bus and help every single passenger on board.

Vi is assigned to work her way into the tightly-knit "Trendsetter" clique at Garreton Academy. Her friendship with Shane is tested when Vi's secret becomes too hard to keep.

Vi enlists the help of Andrew and Jenna in covering up a mistake that threatens the security of the Company. However, this problem is fairly insignificant compared to what she discovers about a member of her own family.

Betrayal is a common theme in Vi's life this week when she goes behind the Company's back yet again. When time runs out, she must make a choice that will change the course of the lives of everyone around her.
